We are the Farmers who are feeding America. The deer population is out of control and we have come up with a couple of solutions to stop this problem. 1. Have an extended deer season. 2. Dogs on your farm to chase away the deer 3. Put a high fence around your crops to protect them. 4. Plant extra crops. 5. Lease your land to hunters to elimnate the deer problem. 6. The DNR could raise the deer bag limit of each season. 7. Plant deer plots on your property such as clover.

We are the rural farmers of Hampshire County. We are having problems with the deer destroying our apple trees in the orchard and destroying our crops that we grow in bulk to sell in the city. This is a problem because if all the deer eat our apples and trees we don't have any fruit to sell to the local people and the customers wanting fresh produce. The deer eating our crops is another problem because if the crops are eaten completely or damaged enough our time is wasted and there is no profit available. Our possible solutions for this problem are that there be no housing developments added, because it will push more deer to the non developed areas. That there'd be unlimited bag limits as landowner because we would lower the deer population. The crop damage permits should allow spotlighting up to sunrise because deer seem to catch on after a while and when the deer come out to eat at sunrise, we are there to kill them. We should plant a deer plot around outside of the garden fence so the deer will eat that instead of our crops. Get a government grant for deer exclusion fencing so we can keep the deer out of the garden and away from the trees. Lease the land for hunting so the deer pouplation decreases. Allow more bucks to be killed so the deer can't reproduce. Let more out of state hunters hunt since you have a limit of deer a day, the out of staters can kill some too. Last of all install invisible deer fence to keep the deer out of the protected areas without having something in the way.

We think that we should have a longer deer season. So there would be less deer so they wont be eating all of our crops. It depends on what type of farmer you are to wether you raise cattle or grow alf alfa. We should keep the deer and the farmer should put stuff around the crops to protect there crops then it would not be so bad. The farmers could let more peolpe hunt on thier land and that would help thin out the population of deer.

We are the farmers who are in need to protect our crops. Deer will not eat an entire crop, but they will eat enough that it will not regenerate itself. By this happening the crop production rate will decrease and the price of our every day product will increase. As a result of the increase in price, it will not allow us to produce as much as the years before, and we still have to worry about the deer eating the limited amount of crop we can produce. So for future years the price will continue to increase until a farmer canít afford to produce any crop at all. By lowering the standards for crop damage permits, there will be more deer harvested. Every one will benefit from this action. People in the area who may need financial relief could be given any unwanted meat by the landowner and not used for sale. Economically this will put more crops on the market for our country and others use due to the decrease of damages to crops. Then when the crop prices start to decrease due to the large amount of crops then suspend the unlimited farm permits, and put a limit on the farmers kills. Every so many years you rotate the process. We the feeders of the word ask you , LET US DO OUR JOB THE WAY WE SEE FIT!

The many problems that farmers face is the deer are eating are crops, which causes millions of dollars of damage every year. I think we should let the farmers shoot the deer all year around with out special permits. We give up alot crops because of these nuisance deer. I think farmers hunting without the special permit is a great idea. Another good solution There are many ways to get my group or class to help. We could take a field trip to an orchard or a farm and help repelle or shoot the deer that are destroying the farmers crop. We could a grant type thing and hunt without the special permits. The results would be crops not being lost and farmers being happy that their crops arent being destroyed. If i was hurt by this process, i would think about how i helped the farmers being happy that their crops aren't being destroyed. I would also feel accomplished that I helped stop the nuisance deer.
