My options on introducing the coyotes to solve the deer population. I don’t think we should

bring the coyotes to control the deer population because they like to pray on the weak and

small. If you have small animals like a dog or a cat the coyotes might attack it. There is a

solution if the coyotes are introducing to the deer population you could put up land and the

coyotes out. The deer tare up land and the coyotes kill the deer so there is less chances of a

deer coming in you yard and tarring up your yard. The coyotes like to destroy and tare up

property.

though. If your scared of your dogs or cats being attacked then don't have them or

keep them inside. If your a complainer then move to the city or put a fence around

your house. It's life deal with it.

only reason we are now noiticing it is becasue we are taking their habitat so they are

forced to interact with ours. http://mdagnrpolicy.arec.umd.edu/Conferences/Deer-

away the deers natural habitat. Its not their fault that humans over build and make

it almost impossible for them to have a home. If deer dont have anywhere to go and

I disagree with this because bringing coyotes to solve the overpopulated deer issue

would be dumb because coyotes wouldn't just kill deer they would kill other

things/animals to i think the insurance companies can come up with better ways to

decrease the deer population other then having coyotes kill all the deer.

Dumb and Dumber, Although you make it very unclear with your phrasing, we

understand that you do not think increasing the number of coyotes to decrease the

number of deer is a good idea. However, you state that coyotes "destroy and tear up

property", and most coyotes usually stay out of the way of humans. Deer, on the other

hand, cause massive amounts of damages to farmers, homeowners, and many other

stakeholders. We would like to see a little more research done and some facts added to

this. We strongly agree with the Screaming Eagles and the Freaky Funkly Farmers. I

disagree with The Rubber Duckies because honestly a deer will do a whole lot more

damage to a car than a coyote will. Thank you.

Hello dumb and dumber, The coyote improvement you brought up will not work.

Seriously do you think a 40 pound coyote can take down a big buck, I think not. They

will, if anything, go for the local cats and smaller animals. They will stay away from the

larger woods and will follow the deer into farms and yards for they aren't the top dog in

the woods. Farmers will also go against your view for coyote actually have money on

their heads for they kill so many young farm animals. So releasing coyotes will 100% not

      work.

What is your solution? How does the topic of introducing coyotes in the deer community

connect with aninsurance company? The discussion is supposed to be on deer, not cats

and dogs. Also, the coyotes are  just like hunters, they prey on the biggest buck for the

most food. Coyotes do not tear up property. My grandfather owns a house right next to a

coyote den and his property is fine. We think that coyotes are a good idea....in

are the more deer people hit and we have to pay for the damages.we belive that the

number of female deer that can be killed legally should be raise to decrease thier

Our group is important to show companies and present to the public the importance on how

deer can influence car accidents, injuries and hospital visits. The issue of a deer is

important to our group on account for car accidents that evolved from an oversized deer

causing tremendous damage to a persons car. Along with this problem people are seriously

injured who have to go to the hospital and then insurance companies have to pay for it. I

think the deer overpopulation problem can be fixed by a hunting competition with a large

reward. It is the wrong thing to hunt deer but problems must be solve in a certain way to

make a solution.  Other stakeholders will barley be affected counting for farmers will have

less deer problems so they will be able to have more crops when they are grown.

Got-Yo-Back Insurance company as well as many other insurance agencies would agree that an

over population of deer can lead to many tribulations in areas where the deer are an issue.

There are many issues concerning this subject with insurance agencies for a verity of reasons.

More than once a day we get either a phone call or a walk-in with distraught clients

complaining their property or vehicles have been damaged. This concerns us for many reasons;

our main concern is the amount of money that is being invested in the damaged caused by deer.

Insurance agencies have spent 1 billion dollars on this issue and is increasing as the deer

population increases. Insurance agencies are important to home and car owners because we

pay for all or most of the damage costs due to the deer population, and it is starting to become

more of an issue than it has ever been in the past. This issue can be resolved by the approval of

the DNR to allow hunters to kill the deer during the season but, the amount allowed to be

executed to be increased.

Thank You

Car Life

We provide insurance for all cars. Deer overpopulation affects us in many ways. Deer over

population endangers our lives. We may be an insurance company and people see us as money

takers. Although some of that is true no one likes to see people get hurt and without us you

would pay an extreme amount of money. We would like to save lives by opening up the season

of killing more females to not reproduce as much as usual. Also would like to put up barricades

along the roads. Yet, that would cost a significant amount of money but indeed would save more

lives. We would need to do something about headlight usage but have not found a way to control

it. Ultimately we just want to save lives and make the roads safer.

An Insurance Agent’s Point of View

Hello, I am a State-Farm insurance agent. I’m here to inform you about the suburban threat

of deer. Not only on any road in America but also right in your back yard. Deer are very

spookish and are wild animals and when surprised just run, possibly causing damage to

whatever’s in their path, whether it be a shed, a fence, or even a window.

1.5 million car accidents that involve deer happen every year. All of these accidents

COULD possibly be fatal. So whether it is inside your house, in your backyard, or along the

many freeways of America, deer are a force to be reckoned with. We estimate that in 2006,

deer-car collisions caused 200 human casualties and more then $1.1 billion in damage

nationwide. Annually 1.5 million deer die via collisions on national highways. Though the deer

may be blamed for this incident it’s actually the humans to be pinned with the fatalities of both

deer and homo sapiens. We were the ones to build highways that separate deer from their

feeding grounds, water source, and mating grounds. More common then not, deer avoid

highways, but under the circumstances, deer will unknowingly try to cross the highway,

occasionally intercepted and taken out by a motorized vehicle.

The natural annihilation or desecration of the deer population is predation by wolves,

coyotes, bears, cougars, mountain lions, and Homo sapiens, but this mainly happens in rural, or

woodland areas. Efforts to remove the deer from suburban areas have involved, and been along

the lines of tranquilizing the deer, and transporting them to a more suitable woodland area.

Due to destruction of gardens and landscapes, over 50$ Million dollars is spent on deer

repellants every year. Though these repellants are successful 77% of the time, however, they

are not guaranteed protection, so property may be damaged. Insurance will not cover all costs,

therefore, the property owners will have to pay out of their pocket to fix the damages caused

by deer infestations in suburban areas. Deer repellants are ineffective and an annoyance

because, these repellants must be reapplied every 3-4 weeks or after heavy rains. Repellants

usually have a displeasing taste or a disagreeable odor.

Like a good neighbor, State-farm is there. For any needs, whether it be protection of your

house, your car, or your life, The State-Farm Insurance Agent is here for you.
