I just finished reading your pov and I agree that there is a problem with the Bay; perhaps you could give some background information as to where the pollutants came from and some solutions, you say there is a problem but you don’t give any suggestions on how to solve it. Also farms don’t just produce meat, perhaps you should look at some other types of farming and give some information on them as well.

I enjoyed reading you POV. I thought that you had a few interesting points. However, I thought that you stressed the money situation a little too much. Money isn't the only problem with the bay. We, the people that live in the watershed area, need to find real solutions to this problem. Money shouldn't be your number one priority with the bay.

You had a lot of great information and great suggestions, but how do you expect to pay for the solutions? If it is your issue, you can't expect others to pay for it.

I just read your POV, and I noticed that you had more facts and information than suggestions that will help the Bay on regaining its quality back to the way it should be.  There are an enormous amount of things that could be done to help the Bay a raise the money to do it along with helping the community and the species that live in the water that have to deal with the pollution everyday.

After reading your forum, I thought that it would be interesting to ask you what your references were. I'm not sure that all of your information is correct. Your forum contained some good ideas, but it could use some better information.

The reason that you don't understand our POV is because we wrote it in the point of view of a fish. You got some good ideas. How can you sell it to the city, because their taxes will be raised. How do you propose to convince the people in Maryland and West Virginia that the taxes need to be raised? Why should you raise taxes on W.V. when Maryland and Virginia are the ones suffering? How do you plan to convince the politicians to do something about it?

We agree with most of the facts you have presented, But there are a few problems that we think should be addressed. “Air pollution can contaminate and kill wildlife.” I’ll have you know air pollution is also killing human beings, I believe the air pollution is the least of our worries right now. “The taxes of people living in the bay region could be raised in order to fund better fertilizes and to place sediment ponds on farms.” Yeah, raise the taxes, I bet that will go over well once your paying those taxes. “Another idea that we should consider is the protection of natural filters.” Finally, a good idea, though how are we to go about saving them? “We can conserve energy. This conservation will reduce the demands on power companies’ that emit nitrogen.” We have been trying to save energy for ages to stop oil depletion. It would be rather hard to get people to try to prevent a little nitrogen from entering the streams “Farmers can help greatly by putting grass and tree buffers around their fields and pastures.” Good idea, but I don’t believe farmers will spend their own money to fix something that doesn’t concern them yet. “Everyone can work together to save the Chesapeake Bay. In time, we just might be able to restore what has been so badly damaged.” Right, but how would we get everyone to work with us? Who even knows about the problems of the bay? We had no idea until we started this assignment. Maybe the first step should be to raise awareness of the problems in how it will effect the population in their everyday lives. Oh and by the way “Awsome” is spelled Awesome

You all put a really good emphaisis on how badly the ecosystem should be fixed, but, I wonder---how? Some actions that should be taken should be included in your POV. It was very factful, though.

We have provided a solution that we could possibly create. If you read thoroughly we said that we could maybe come up with a better fertilizer. may i ask which entry is yours then i can ask you a question.

We have read your POV and find that you have some excellent points. However, we have some questions for you. When you say that people should limit electrical use around the home, is this because you believe that coal-fired power plants empty pollutants into rivers, and that if we use excessive amounts of electricity the plants pour more pollution in rivers? Also, what did you mean when you said we should drive efficiently on the road and how would this help clean-up the Chesapeake Bay ecosystem?

I have finished reading your point of view. I felt that you had good background information. Although,I strongly suggest that you work on proofreading because you had alot of spelling errors. The only question I have is what would be a primary solution to your problem?

Your idea that something needs to be done is correct, but you should offer some ideas of how to fix the problem, instead of just complaining. You should consider adding more information to back up your claims.

Great POV! Everything seems to be correct, but I believe that the "income" statements are slightly exaggerated. Fish are fun to catch and do make a great meal, but most people are more concerned with water being suitable for the fish to live in their natural habitats than they are with you all trying to keep a steady income. I do not agree with your income statements because I believe that you all are hurting the fish just as much as pollution is. I believe this because you all are depleting the supply of the fish just as pollution is!

Your ideas formed a good basic start to cleaning up the bay, however, I think you should be more spacific and back up your information with facts. This will makle your forum more convincing.

I had an interesting time reading your pov. It was different. Perhaps you should look at the fact that fertilizer isn’t the only pollutant in the Bay. The fertilizer isn’t killing everything it is actually acting as a “fertilizer” to the algae, among other things, which are harmful to the inhabitants of the Bay. Also you will have to spend money rebuilding your fences anyway, so why does it matter where they are located, on this side of the river or the other. Money isn’t everything, especially if it is the farmer’s responsibility to feed the American people, as you state.

In my opinion you wrote an interesting article, but I think that the fertilizers are not the major problem. I think the government should pay to teach the farmers when to put fertilizers on their fields and how much at a time.

I just read your POV.  I thought that you had some interesting points. You mentioned that meat is a great source of food for Americans, however you didn't give any solutions on how to keep it healthy. I understand your point, but farming isn't all about livestock. There is produce too. Run-off from crop fields also lead to pollution. I think that you should consider factors other than livestock.
