Stephanie Banik

Stephanie started at the Cacapon Institute in June 2023 as the Education and Outreach Coordinator. She is our main personnel for implementing environmental literacy to our youth of West Virginia. Whether it’s conducting hands-on learning, connecting classrooms with real-world watershed conservation or facilitating schoolyard projects to reduce non-point source stormwater pollution.  She enjoys connecting with our youth and making a lasting and positive environmental impact on their lives. She earned her BA from McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland double majoring in Environmental Policy & Science and Business Administration. She has previous experience working with young adults as a District Executive for the Boy Scouts of America in Prince George’s County, Maryland. And was a park ranger at Calvert Cliffs State Park in Lusby, Maryland.

She enjoys vegan cooking, great conversation, animal advocacy and spending her free time outdoors with her husband and two rescued cats. They reside in the Capon Bridge area of West Virginia.
